We’re not surprised. With the amount of information floating around out there – online, in books, and on social media – deciding what to put in your body can be both overwhelming and intimidating.
Someone you know is on a juice cleanse. Someone else you know has recently gone vegan. A third person is giving up sugar and gluten. Who’s right? Who’s wrong? Who’s to say one way or another? And just where do eggs fall in all of this?
Freshly was born out of the desire to create healthy meals that nourish both body and mind. We’re very serious about the way we design our healthy dishes. If you’re an egg fan, you might have noticed that many of our breakfasts are organized around eggs. We like eggs, especially our cage-free eggs. And why is that? Well, they have a lot of good stuff to offer.
You’re probably thinking, “What?”
But it’s true. We know there seems to be a lot of controversy around eggs. The big beef with them is that they contain lots of cholesterol (which isn’t actually the case). And we’ve all been told that cholesterol is the big bad wolf of heart disease. According to the Mayo Clinic, however, “the effect of egg consumption on blood cholesterol is minimal when compared with the effect of trans fats and saturated fats” like that found in most breakfast pastries, pies, cookies, and cake.
What’s more, eggs contain a host of healthy vitamins and minerals, such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, thiamin, B6, folate, pantothenic acid, and B12.
